Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team at the City of Mount Vernon, WA. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services, fire suppression, and rescue operations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients in a variety of settings
  • Operate fire apparatus and equipment, including pumpers, ladder trucks, and rescue trucks
  • Participate in fire prevention and education activities, including inspections and public outreach
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, the public, and other agencies
  • Perform physical tasks, including climbing, lifting, and carrying heavy equipment
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawfully allowed to work in the U.S.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at time of application
  • Graduation from High School or equivalent GED certificate
  • 90 quarter credit hours of general course studies from an accredited College or University
  • Possess a Washington State Paramedic Certification, National Registry or other State equivalency with the ability to be certified in Washington
  • Valid CPAT certification
  • Ability to pass medical, psychological, and Civil Service requirements
