Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team at the City of Mount Vernon, WA. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services, fire suppression, and rescue operations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients in a variety of settings
  • Operate fire apparatus and equipment, including pumpers, ladder trucks, and ambulances
  • Participate in fire prevention and education activities, including inspections and public outreach
  • Collaborate with other emergency responders and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and the public
Requirements
  • Valid Paramedic Certification, National Registry, or State equivalency
  • Valid CPAT certification or ability to obtain prior to October 27, 2024
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate
  • 90 quarter credit hours of general course studies from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to pass a psychological exam, pre-employment medical exam, and drug screen
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to physical hazards
