Job Summary

The City of Bentonville is seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our IT systems and network operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and upgrade Windows servers, Department Level Applications, and various network equipment.
  • Utilize the IT Service Desk to receive work, document fixes, and research solutions.
  • Perform daily operational support and monitoring of all information systems and services, including Windows AD, DHCP, DNS, IIS, Apache, SQL, Exchange, VMWare, Microsoft Azure, and Office 365.
  • Provide operational support for Department Level applications and systems.
  • Monitor and maintain backup systems for city data infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with our IT team to analyze and resolve performance and other IT-related issues.
  • Create and maintain system administration procedures and technical documentation.
  • Follow City IT standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist users with IT and network operations tasks as requested.
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT management staff and our IT team to implement large-scale IT initiatives.
  • Provide technology mentoring and training to IT staff and city employees.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2-Year college-level education and/or credentials, and 5+ years IT Technician experience; or a combination of education and work experience sufficient to perform all required duties at a fully competent advanced level.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
