This role involves collaborating with physicians to evaluate the medical needs of patients in the emergency department. The provider will order, interpret, and document clinical tests, communicating results to the medical team. Responsibilities include prescribing medications and recommending various therapeutic treatments. The candidate should possess a deep understanding of advanced practices and procedures, utilizing significant experience and judgment to navigate the fast-paced environment of an emergency setting. Creativity and independence in decision-making are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a consultant and educator for a defined patient population and their caregivers.
- Lead initiatives to enhance collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare leaders, and nursing staff.
- Contribute to improving patient and family outcomes throughout the care continuum.
- Master's degree from an accredited advanced registered nursing program or a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited physician assistant program.
- Minimum of two years of experience in emergency or urgent care preferred.
- Current Kansas Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) license or Kansas Physician Assistant (PA-C) license.
- National certification relevant to the clinical practice area is preferred.
