Job Description

At Apple, we're looking for a skilled IC Designer to join our Power Management team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing and developing innovative power management ICs that meet the high standards of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop transistor-level circuits for power management ICs, including DC-DC converters and related auxiliary IPs.
  • Collaborate with system engineers and architects to develop sophisticated power management solutions for Apple products.
  • Work with a team to build and test power management ICs, ensuring they meet the required specifications and performance standards.
  • Develop and implement design concepts to overcome engineering problems in complex power systems.
  • Document design decisions and results, and present them to the team and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in industry for ICs going into production.
  • Proven experience with optimization of voltage regulator high-level architecture and low-level circuits.
  • Familiarity with buck, boost, LDOs, bandgaps, bias, comparators, and op-amps.
  • Device physics knowledge in regard to analog and power, including transistor operation, optimization, parasitics, and performance.
  • Experience with analog IC design CAD tools and analysis flows.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Qualified to review and provide feedback for printed circuit board designs from a power perspective and associated I/O.
  • Design with detailed testability; write test plans for trim and calibration; collaborate with test engineers.
  • Validate analog/power designs on a lab bench using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.
