We are in search of a Lead Java Engineer to enhance their team and play a vital role in the development and upkeep of a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) system.

Role Overview:
As a Lead Java Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include the design, development, and maintenance of Java-based services for the SDA system. You will collaborate with diverse teams to define, design, and implement new functionalities, ensuring that the software solutions are of high quality, scalable, and efficient. This position demands a robust background in Java development, familiarity with contemporary development frameworks, and a dedication to software engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
  • Write well-structured, testable, and efficient code.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.

Qualifications:

  • Must commute to Chantilly, VA or Reston, VA daily - no remote option available.
    • Relocation assistance will be provided.
  • Targeting 15 years of experience in Java development, with a minimum of 10 years required.
  • Must be a US Citizen with a Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
  • Willingness to undergo a TS/SCI+Poly Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in scripting languages.
  • AWS Certification or equivalent Cloud experience.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph is preferred.
