Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse: Must be a graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Nursing Program.
- Possess a current and valid nursing license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience in an educational setting.
- CPR certification and health screenings as mandated by the client facility.
- A genuine passion for working with children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to ATC policies and procedures.
- Follow nursing policies and procedures established by the client facility.
- Accurately document all services rendered.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable health regulations.
- Effectively communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
- Order necessary nursing supplies as needed.
- Provide care while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Deliver patient services in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner.
- Administer first aid and nursing care to students as required.
- Initiate emergency care as necessary.
- May accompany medically fragile students on school transportation.
- Act as a liaison between the school, home, healthcare providers, and community agencies.
- Assist in the health education of students and support teaching staff.
- Coordinate referrals for students to community health programs.
- Identify students for health program placements.
- Ensure compliance with health laws and immunization requirements.
- Engage in continuing education to maintain nursing competency.
- Uphold ethical standards and professional nursing practices.
- Responsibilities may vary based on assignment and can change as needed.
