The Community Engagement and Employment Program Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing a team of 8-12 office personnel in the management of a program that serves approximately 180 participants daily and 250 participants annually, within a designated geographical area.

Ensures that all interactions with program participants are equitable and comply with employment regulations as well as AARP, AARP Foundation, and program policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:
Provides both programmatic and administrative support to the Project Director, ensuring effective management and accountability for the local project site.

Ensures site adherence to federal regulations governing the financial and administrative operations of daily activities.


Assists in the management of any satellite locations (both urban and rural) in compliance with federal regulations, grant stipulations, and program policies and procedures.

Trains or supervises the training of site staff and oversees the preparation of site performance, financial, and other mandatory reports. Ensures responsible expenditure of grant funds on payroll and administrative necessities.


Conducts job workshops and encourages participants to engage in job search activities, take advantage of training opportunities, and actively pursue unsubsidized employment placements.

Implements diverse recruitment strategies to meet enrollment targets and manage payroll budget allocations effectively.

Recruits non-profit and public community service host organizations for participant placements.

Monitors 50 to 80 active host organizations to guarantee that participants receive adequate training and supervision in a safe working environment.


Develops and/or collaborates with various organizations (private, public, and non-profit) to offer additional training opportunities for participants, including specialized training and on-the-job experiences.


Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is preferred.


A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible management experience, including at least 1 year of staff supervision and 2 years of budget management; or an equivalent combination of training and experience relevant to the duties of the position.

Experience in environments with complex administrative or regulatory frameworks.

Proficiency in creating presentations, data entry, generating reports from databases, and utilizing contemporary software applications. Additionally, the ability to perform basic to intermediate computer/technical troubleshooting.

Willingness to travel within the assigned geographical area is required.
