Role Overview
This position is for a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Engineer within our GRC team. We are specialists in governance, risk, and compliance, committed to enabling Reddit to manage risks effectively. We value experts who approach security, risk, and controls with humility and a proactive attitude, possessing extensive technical knowledge in security certifications, technical controls, and risk management. Our focus is on delivering clear, factual insights to our business partners regarding emerging risks.

The ideal candidate will have a robust technical background and experience in a Governance, Risk, and Compliance or Technical Controls Compliance team. We are looking for individuals skilled in enhancing and facilitating technical controls, identifying control gaps and risks, and fostering strong partnerships across functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of technical controls to ensure alignment with security control certifications.
- Lead the design and maturation of technical controls to enhance consistency and value.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure initiatives achieve collective goals.
- Promote Reddit's unique blend of Security, Privacy, and Compliance Engineering (SPACE).
Impact of Your Role:
This position offers flexibility within the GRC domain, providing ample opportunities to engage in a broad range of work. You will play a crucial role in shaping Reddit's technical control framework and operations, partnering with various teams to advance Reddit's SPACE mission.
What You Will Do:
- Assist in security compliance initiatives to enhance and optimize controls in collaboration with SPACE team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor and improve Reddit's technical control framework to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Design and develop continuous control monitoring tools and scripts to enhance control execution and reporting.
- Provide detailed technical recommendations for controls definition, implementation, and assessment in collaboration with Security and Engineering teams.
- Work with teams across the organization to identify security and privacy risk mitigation needs.
- Collaborate with Security, Privacy, and Engineering teams to implement technical controls.
- Maintain compliance documentation, including audit evidence and controls.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in compliance frameworks such as SOC, ISO, SOX, and ITGC Controls.
- Experience in designing and implementing continuous control monitoring activities using GRC solutions and scripting languages.
- Knowledge of API and data querying.
- Several years of experience with GRC tooling configuration.
- Extensive experience in Security governance, risk, and compliance roles; relevant certifications are advantageous.
- Ability to foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture and maintain positive relationships across functional groups.
- Experience executing compliance initiatives for cloud platforms and collaborating with engineering teams to implement controls.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey GRC topics to business representatives.
