CMM Programmer III

We are seeking a skilled CMM Programmer III to join our team at Fairbanks Morse Defense - Ward Leonard. As a CMM Programmer III, you will be responsible for programming and inspecting complex mechanical detail parts and assemblies using a Brown & Sharpe (B&S) CMM (PC DMIS programming language).
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and perform CMM inspection of parts and assemblies.
- Develop programs for CMM inspection of complex mechanical detail parts and assemblies using drawings, CAD/CAM data, and GD&T standards.
- Ensure that all CMM programs meet GWP and GD&T principles to accurately, efficiently, and repetitively measure products with appropriate methods in a timely manner.
- Understand and use GD&T and interpret various blueprints.
- Train others to operate the CMM.
- Support 2nd shift needs if required.
- Manage the work flow in and out of CMM to ensure efficient and accurate inspection.
- Proficient in using various measuring equipment, including optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, pin gage, etc.
- Support all inspection requirements and related work by staying actively engaged.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of company's ERP systems related to quality modules, engineering masters, part/item masters, reports.
- Work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform all tasks accurately with attention to detail per drawings, specifications, or other operational instructions.
- Work independently or in close groups.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Quality Manager / Lead CMM Programmer I.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient work area.
- This position requires access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
Accountability:
- Reports to Quality Manager / Lead CMM Programmer I and alerts of progress and problems.
Environmental / Safety / Time Allocation/ Physical Requirements:
- Job requires standing and walking in a manufacturing facility and use of PPE.
- Job requires use of a crane to lift heavy objects.
- Job requires efficient use of a computer and office tools.
Education / Experience:
- High School / Trade School - with 2 to 5 years of QC experience in an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
- CMM programmer – PCDMIS.
- First article Lay-out experience and proficiency.
- Ability to apply GD&T to mechanical layout inspection.
Computer proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and typical office software.
