Role Summary:
The Systems Integration Specialist acts as the main technical liaison with clients, necessitating frequent direct interaction with customers. This role involves close collaboration with the Program Manager to oversee daily operations, ensuring adherence to budget, timelines, and technical specifications for product and service delivery. A diverse skill set in hardware and software integration, systems engineering, and testing is essential, along with strong organizational and communication skills to effectively engage with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical interface for clients, working independently in a customer-focused environment.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to drive daily operations while ensuring program cost and schedule are met.
- Provide technical insights and recommendations to senior leadership and the Program Manager.
- Conduct briefings for clients during scheduled events and technical meetings.
- Engage in broader engineering processes and uphold technical standards.
Integration Support:
- Perform in-depth analysis and offer recommendations on the integration of software and architecture to guide design and artifact creation.
- Conduct engineering evaluations to support future platform implementations with open architectures and establish a robust integration process.
- Act as a key contributor in Integrated Product Teams to plan for upcoming platform implementations.
- Document integration methodologies and tools to support future sensor mission systems and aircraft.
- Generate essential deliverables, including integration and testing plans, procedures, and reports.
- Provide expert analysis on compliance and interoperability of Government Reference Architectures.
Platform Integration:
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams, offering Subject Matter Expertise to expedite software implementations on existing and developing unmanned aerial systems.
Experimentation Support:
- Engage in the on-site integration of software and hardware components to achieve functional systems in integration labs and testing environments.
- Collaborate with the Test and Evaluation teams to provide expert analysis and input for test reports.
- Assist in documenting processes and tools for future implementations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related STEM field (consideration for equivalent experience in lieu of degree).
- 5+ years of experience in defense or Department of Defense sectors.
- Experience in integrating hardware and software systems in both laboratory and field settings.
- Practical knowledge of Kubernetes, Red Hat Linux, and DevSecOps.
- Understanding of integration methodologies and tools for sensor mission systems.
- Proficient in relevant software tools for requirement analysis, CI/CD pipelines, Agile management, and testing.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and quality control processes.
- Knowledge of Open Architecture Standards and modeling methodologies.
- Experience with hardware and software interfaces and network configurations.
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
