PRIMARY ROLE:
Your main responsibility will be to assemble, install, and repair piping systems, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems in accordance with specifications and plumbing regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote safety practices for yourself and your colleagues while fostering a positive company image.
- Compile necessary materials for each project.
- Review building plans and technical drawings to determine required tools and installation sequences.
- Inspect structures to identify potential obstructions that could compromise the integrity of the installation.
- Mark and locate the positioning of pipes and connections using measuring tools.
- Cut openings in walls and floors for pipe installation using hand and power tools.
- Cut and thread pipes using appropriate equipment.
- Assemble and install valves, fittings, and pipes made from various materials including metals and plastics.
- Join pipes using various methods including screws, bolts, fittings, solder, and caulking.
- Test pipe systems for leaks by filling them with water or air and monitoring pressure gauges.
- Maintain awareness of material availability on-site and in the shop.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory plumbing role.
- Med-Gas Certification is advantageous.
- Experience with boiler installations and gas lines.
- Proficient in installing compressed air lines, drainage systems, and water lines.
- Familiarity with sanitary and storm lines.
- Ability to manage timesheets and expense reports.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must be capable of working skillfully with their hands and lifting objects weighing up to 150 pounds. Vision must be adequate (naturally or with corrective lenses). Ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds, as well as kneel, stoop, or crouch as necessary.
Upon successful completion of the probationary period, a pay increase will be provided, with additional increases available after one year of successful employment.
