Job Overview

Position: Equipment Operator (Asphalt)

Work Schedule: 70 hours per week

Travel: Extensive travel required throughout North Dakota and South Dakota during the summer months.

Role Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Equipment Operator is to effectively operate and maintain heavy machinery, including loaders, rollers, pavers, and screeds. Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating strong communication skills (verbal, listening, written).
  • Exhibiting self-motivation and teamwork with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with clients and demonstrating respect towards others.
  • Identifying and resolving issues related to material quality and equipment functionality.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to address production challenges.
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNR, and other safety and environmental regulations.

Compensation: Competitive wages ranging from $30.60 to $32.40 per hour, in addition to a fringe benefit of $20.65 per hour. A weekly per diem of $350 is provided to cover housing expenses, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. 1-2 years of relevant experience or training in the construction sector is advantageous. Candidates must also successfully pass a urine drug test.
