KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Conduct thorough safety evaluations of military weapon systems.
  2. Engage in risk assessment activities and lead investigations into mishaps.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Possess an active DoD Security Clearance (investigation completed within the last 5 years).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 7 years of experience.
  • Proven expertise in applying MIL-STD-882E for safety analysis, recommending improvements, and ensuring safety is integrated into system design and procedures.
  • Experience in documenting hazards using a Hazard Tracking System (HTS).
  • Familiarity with electrical circuit design principles.
  • Demonstrated capability to produce safety documentation in compliance with MIL-STD-882E, including SSPP, PHA, FHA, SHA/SuSHA, Bent Pin Analyses, FTA, SAR, and Software Safety Analyses.
  • Experience in developing, reviewing, and approving system safety documentation and requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to interpret electrical circuit schematics.
  • Experience in implementing and testing software safety requirements.
  • Background in missile system design.
  • In-depth knowledge of military system safety standards and their industry equivalents, such as MIL-STD-882, RCC 319, AFSPCMAN 91-710, ASTM, ANSI, NEC, AFOSH, AOP-52, JOTP-051, PESHE, NFPA.
  • Familiarity with the System Safety Incident Investigation process.
