Aspire Medical Staffing - Pharmacy Services

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. As a Pharmacist at Aspire Medical Staffing, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the personnel, supply, and equipment capabilities of the facility.
  • Review patient profiles at the time of dispensing in order to closely monitor medication therapy.
  • Ensure accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.
  • Work closely with clinical staff in developing patient wellness programs such as smoking cessation programs and asthma classes.
  • Provide medication information to the clinical staff as required, including in-service training on new medications on the market; appropriate use of medications; comparison of current medication therapies; and other topics as deemed appropriate by the department head.
  • Provide clinical direction of corpsmen and pharmacy technicians and provide input to government supervisors on job performance.
  • Maintain inventory control of all handled pharmaceuticals, especially scheduled pharmaceuticals, and uphold pharmacy security in accordance with federal and local policies and procedures.
  • Consult with other specialty practitioners who have been referred for pharmaceutical services.
  • Execute drug utilization reviews (DURs) as deemed necessary.
  • Utilize pharmacy computer and robotic systems in accordance with MTF protocols.
  • Provide drug information consultation services, including pharmacokinetic drug services, monitoring organ and clinical status of patients, and recommending appropriate dosing.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license.
  • One year of professional pharmacy experience after graduation within the preceding 36 months.
  • Possess experience in the use of pharmacy computer systems such as the DHA MHS GENESIS electronic health record or retail/hospital pharmacy computer systems.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
