Responsibilities

As a Logistics Operations Manager, your role will involve planning, scheduling, coordinating, and implementing methods and procedures to ensure the efficient and economical routing and movement of freight with a focus on accuracy.

  • Compile and analyze production and service records to measure compliance with standards
  • Evaluate and measure personnel performance, leading to necessary adjustments in work practices to enhance overall operations
  • Review logs and reports while collaborating with shift personnel to determine essential scheduling, production, and administrative support needs
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling for freight deliveries
  • Assist with billing, rating, manifesting, and analysis of freight dimensions and weight
  • Maintain excellent communication with both external and internal customers
  • Support the training, development, and evaluation of production and/or clerical staff performance, recommending or initiating documentation as needed
  • Collaborate with the Service Center Manager to recruit, qualify, interview, hire, train, and develop personnel
  • Ensure the protection and maintenance of Service Center premises
  • Assist in investigating, reporting, and initiating corrective actions for accidents, job-related injuries, and employee discrepancies
  • Understand and apply safety practices in accordance with relevant regulations
  • Facilitate information meetings with Service Center team members
  • Effectively manage special assignments as directed

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the LTL/Transportation industry
  • Experience managing drivers and dockworkers
  • Knowledge of the geographical area surrounding the Service Center
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Proficiency in English
