Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Ascension Seton. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with accepted protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with accepted protocols.
  • Set up and adjust all imaging equipment and manually maneuver transducers to perform exams.
  • Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures.
  • Perform routine and complex studies and assist in a variety of imaging procedures.
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department.
Requirements
  • Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
    • One or more of the following required:
      • Cardiac Sonographer specializing in Adult Echo credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date.
      • Advanced Pediatric Echocardiography Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer-Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS-PE) or Fetal Echocardiography Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer-Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS-FE) also accepted.
      • Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date.
      • Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (CCI-ACS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (CCI-RCCS) also accepted.
  • Education:
    • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
