The Environmental, Health & Safety Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting our organization's initiatives inenvironmental stewardship, workplace safety, and sustainability efforts. Responsibilities will encompass the development, planning, organization, and execution of strategies aimed at maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace. This individual will be instrumental in cultivating a proactive and integrated EHSS culture throughout the organization.
This role will involve coordinating, implementing, assessing, and ultimately enhancing environmental, health, safety, and sustainability outcomes in alignment with organizational objectives.
The EHSS Operations Manager is expected to embody the core values of integrity, inclusion, passion, innovation, urgency, and accountability.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, Standard Business Hours
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and enhance EHSS programs to comply with federal, state, local, and internal EHSS regulations, standards, and guidelines.
Engage in collaborative, inclusive, and dynamic interactions while supporting the organization, the team, and extended functions as we strive to enhance the existing EHSS management framework.
Provide technical guidance and oversight concerning EHSS programs and activities within the organization.Mentor team members and operational leaders to empower them in successfully implementing and owning EHSS best practices.
Ability to apply EHSS regulatory requirements in a manufacturing context.
Participate in and support EHSS operational discussions, various EHSS committees, and EHSS self-assessments and audits.
Accountable for EHSS regulatory readiness and fostering relationships to achieve business objectives collaboratively.
Collect data and utilize it to guide team members on appropriate actions regarding EHSS matters.
Ensure personnel are informed of their responsibilities concerning environmental and safety protocols and reporting, providing training as necessary.
Responsible for utilizing EHSS platforms for investigations, inspections, and compliance activities.
Execute recordkeeping/reporting at national, state, and local levels, as well as within organizational expectations.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Basic Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, health and safety, environmental science).
A minimum of five (5) years of direct EHSS experience in manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry settings.
Experience interacting with EHSS-related agencies and auditors.
Working knowledge of applicable EHSS governing bodies and their expectations (i.e., OSHA, NJDEP, EPA, NFPA, etc.).
Proven experience and success in designing and executing EHSS programs in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and experience in conducting objective risk assessments.
Strong skills in Incident Investigation and Corrective Action and Preventative Action processes.
Proficiency in computer-based systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, EHS web-based systems).
