Job Title: Substance Abuse Counselor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to provide treatment and casework services to patients. As a member of our team, you will work closely with patients to identify their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs, and develop personalized treatment plans to support their recovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient services based on plan of care
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans according to applicable state regulations
  • Provide clinical services, patient care, and education, as well as opiate use disorder counseling services to patients
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely patient files
  • Coordinate care of assigned patients and present patient status and concerns with the treatment team
Requirements:
  • LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) certification is required for the Counselor Position
  • Maintain State Certification/Licensure or be in the process of obtaining Certification/License
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Experience working with opiate-addicted populations
  • Skilled in conducting assessments, utilizing screening criteria for appropriate patient placement, treatment plan development and implementation, service coordination, and crisis intervention
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent documentation and computer skills
  • Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
