North Star Behavioral Health is a renowned behavioral health facility offering programs in and around the Anchorage, Alaska area for children, teens, and adults suffering from psychiatric or substance abuse issues. The institution also provides military-specific care to First Responders, Service Members, Veterans, and their dependents at the Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital.
Our Goal:
- To provide exceptional patient care that patients recommend to their family and friends, physicians prefer for their patients, and employees are proud to provide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough medical assessments and initial histories within 24 hours of admission.
- Develop and implement integrated treatment plans addressing both mental health and medical issues in collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff.
- Participate in treatment team meetings to contribute insights into patients' medical conditions, discuss treatment options, and ensure comprehensive care plans.
- Co-manage patients with complex medical co-morbidities during their length of stay.
- Provide medical education to patients and their families regarding medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Offer medical consults as needed to patients across the lifespan.
Position Details:
- Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
- Benefit-eligible, employed W-2 position.
- The typical schedule is Monday-Friday, days only.
- Occasional weekend coverage and weekday overnight call.
Required Qualifications:
- Current Alaska Nurse Practitioner license.
- Successful completion of an accredited FNP program.
- AANPCB board certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication to upholding the highest standards of patient care and safety.
