Job Description

Job Title: Retail Sales Associate

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Flash Markets. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and achieving sales goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet customers with a friendly demeanor, provide fast and efficient service, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Cash Handling: Accurately process customer transactions, manage cash refunds and exchanges, and maintain a high level of cash handling accuracy.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain a clean and organized store environment, restock shelves, and ensure that merchandise is properly displayed and rotated.
  • Specialty Products: Process specialty products, including money orders, credit card purchases, checks, and lottery sales and redemptions.
  • Age Verification: Verify customer ages for restricted sales and maintain a high level of age verification accuracy.
  • Sanitation and Cleaning: Maintain a clean and sanitary store environment, including sanitizing equipment and areas, and following proper cleaning procedures.
  • Vendor Deliveries: Receive and process vendor deliveries, ensure that merchandise is properly stocked and rotated, and remove damaged and out-of-code merchandise.
  • Bad Merchandise Resolution: Identify and resolve bad merchandise issues, complete the bad merchandise form, and contribute to the overall operational excellence.
  • Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable, assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned, and contribute to the overall success of the team.

Requirements:

  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older (21 years of age or older in certain states).
  • Availability: Must be able to work weekends and holidays, embracing the full rhythm of retail.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
  • Math Proficiency: Basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of frequently lifting 10 lbs and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Pre-Employment Screening: Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to a criminal history background check.
