Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect areas of responsibility to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
  • Review the work of subordinates in custodial and related activities, providing guidance and feedback as needed
  • Lead or mentor lower-level team members, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork
  • Advises superiors regarding the need for repairs and/or maintenance, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Issues and controls the use of supplies and equipment for custodial work, maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Trains employees on new procedures and equipment, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
  • Performs all other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team and the organization
Requirements
  • Ability to use common cleaning tools and lightweight vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and buffers
  • Ability to follow the work schedule and work safely, lifting/moving lightweight objects
  • Ability to read and/or follow simple direction/signs, and follow simple verbal and/or written instructions
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Five (5) years experience in general custodial or janitorial work plus one (1) year of experience in a supervisory capacity is required
