Job Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for overseeing engineering functions related to the manufacturing process. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing plant operations by improving manufacturing efficiency, reducing costs, and elevating product quality. Responsibilities include daily support for production cells, troubleshooting, designing fixtures, and innovating new manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties
  • May involve direct management of personnel, including recruitment and performance evaluation. Applies extensive knowledge of technical disciplines and analytical skills to implement policies and strategies.
  • Possesses awareness of industry best practices and understands how their area of expertise integrates with other departments; recognizes competitive factors that set the company apart in the marketplace.
  • Utilizes judgment and creativity to propose alternative solutions for complex manufacturing challenges that involve diverse technical requirements and interconnected production cycles. Relies on technical expertise and analytical reasoning, drawing from various internal and limited external resources to make informed decisions.
  • Serves as a mentor for less experienced colleagues. May lead small-scale projects with manageable risks and resource needs. Communicates information effectively; develops skills to guide team members toward consensus on relevant topics. Sets performance expectations and may address sensitive matters.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing setting)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering

  • Direct experience with metal machining and forming processes, particularly Inconel
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
