Job Overview

United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia seeks a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a member of our staff, you will provide direct support, supervision, and training for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities residing in our residential facility.

Estimated Salary: $38,000-$45,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support, supervision, and training for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Maintain daily records in Therap.
  • Assist with feeding, bathing, dressing, and mobility.
  • Perform inspections of vans and ensure safe transport protocols are followed.
  • Participate in household chores, including kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom maintenance.
  • Prepare meals and manage diets according to individual healthcare plans.
  • Provide personal care support, including changing, dressing, and other ADLs.
  • Complete documentation and notes as required using the Therap system.
  • Educate residents about health and wellness topics.
  • Encourage residents to participate in recreational activities and outings.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Follow all agency, state, and federal laws and policies.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CPR/FA certification.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without accommodations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
