Position Overview: Chemical and Gas Equipment Technician

Shift Details: Day Shift Only

Initial training will occur Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

After training, the technician will be assigned to one of the following shifts:

(1) Front End Dayshift – 12 hours (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Every Other Weekend)

(2) Back End Dayshift – 12 hours (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Every Other Weekend)

Compensation: Starting pay rate is $27 per hour; upon transitioning to a permanent employee, the pay rate will increase to $29 per hour.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the technical requirements of site gas and/or chemical systems.
  • Perform cylinder and drum changes across all chemical and gas systems, alongside complex troubleshooting and problem-solving for all equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to operational and maintenance protocols, safety standards, and promote flawless execution.
  • Oversee the maintenance of over 500 pieces of distribution equipment from various manufacturers.
  • Foster a culture that prioritizes zero safety or quality incidents.
  • Engage in Basic Safety Processes, quality management, preventative maintenance, and training initiatives.
  • With experience, assist in the installation, decommissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of all EMD Electronics Gas Systems, precursor delivery systems, and Bulk Chemical Distribution systems.

Both inexperienced and seasoned candidates will participate in comprehensive on-the-job training and technical qualification programs. The position offers a fast-paced promotion track across five levels of technicians, representing a significant career opportunity in a growing sector.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a maintenance or equipment technician role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with chemical and gas distribution equipment.
  • Completion of Navy Nuclear Power School or military mechanic training.
