Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Criminal Paralegal to support the U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO), Western District of Virginia. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical paralegal services and support Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) within the Criminal Division.

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of technical paralegal services to assist AUSAs in investigations, litigation, and trials
• Conduct research and gather information from various sources to aid in investigations and litigation
• Analyze documents, financial records, and other data to prepare reports and presentations
• Assist in the review and analysis of case files, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions
• Organize and maintain large quantities of records, data, and discovery documents
• Prepare exhibits and visual materials for use in trials and settlement discussions
• Provide technical support, including enlarging charts and photographs, duplicating tapes and videos, and marking exhibits

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in a professional office environment, preferably in a legal setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Knowledge of legal procedures and terminology, as well as legal research tools and E-case filing systems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
