Key Responsibilities- Administer, coordinate, and direct clinical nursing activities
- Provide supervision of an inpatient nursing unit, developing work schedules and work assignments to be accomplished by subordinates
- Manage employee performance, identifying the need for unit-specific policies that guide medical nursing practice
- Monitor healthcare services to ensure quality care in accordance with medical and nursing guidelines and accreditation requirements
- Graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service, performing the following type of work and/or tasks: administering, coordinating, and directing clinical nursing activities; providing supervision of an inpatient nursing unit, developing work schedules and work assignments to be accomplished by subordinates; managing employee performance, identifying the need for unit-specific policies that guide medical nursing practice, and monitoring healthcare services to ensure quality care in accordance with medical and nursing guidelines and accreditation requirements
- Supervisory and managerial abilities, including accountability, customer service, decisiveness, flexibility, integrity/honesty, interpersonal skills, oral communication, problem-solving, resilience, and written communication
