About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented X Ray Technician - Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Concentra Career Choice. As a key member of our patient care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, including escorting them to dressing and x-ray rooms, providing verbal and written instructions, and assisting with positioning body parts for radiography.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes, ensuring patient care, safety, and comfort during the x-ray exam.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure the safety of patients and team members.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order, reporting any malfunctions to the Center Operations Director.
  • Follow radiologic workflows and ensure accurate documentation of patient x-ray visits.
  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and conducting ancillary testing as required.
  • Perform rapid screening tests, including influenza, strep, mono, glucose, and other tests as needed.
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments, performing routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician.
  • Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by the treating clinician, and dispense medications and DME as needed.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices, maintaining supplies, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking exam rooms.
  • Notify the supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or the facility is not operating as expected.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of a state-approved Limited Scope Technician certificate program and license, if applicable.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • At least six months of medical assistant experience, with knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements, with prior medical office, healthcare, and/or customer service-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customarily has at least six months of demonstrated experience in X-Ray and familiarity with routine medical procedures.
