Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury, Vermont. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients with a variety of conditions, including respiratory failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and pneumonia.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including mechanical ventilators, oxygen therapy devices, and aerosol generators.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests, including spirometry and blood gas analysis.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
Requirements
  • Associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
  • Current certification or registration as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
  • At least one year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
