The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Iowa invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track faculty position in Hearing Science/Audiology. We are seeking a highly qualified individual to contribute to our department's strong record of research accomplishments, educational mission, and service to the university, profession, and community.

Research Opportunities

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to establish and maintain an active research program in the area of Hearing Science/Audiology, with a focus on genetics, neuroscience, physiology, pediatric audiology/language development, and hearing aids. Our department has a strong audiology faculty with complementary research interests and expertise, creating a unique and ideal culture of collaboration.

Teaching and Service

The successful applicant will also contribute to our educational mission by teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in their area of expertise. Additionally, they will contribute to the department's mission to serve the university, profession, and community through service and outreach activities.

Qualifications

The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field by the anticipated start date of August 20, 2025. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level must demonstrate clear evidence of potential to develop and maintain an active and productive research program, obtain external funding, and teach effectively at the college level. Candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level must demonstrate an active and productive research program, established record of external funding, and effective teaching at the post-secondary level.
