Environmental Service Aide

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Service Aide to join our team at Appalachian Regional Healthcare, Inc. As an Environmental Service Aide, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Cleaning and Sanitation: Perform a variety of cleaning duties, including cleaning walls, floors, equipment, bath areas, furniture, ceilings, elevators, staircases, windows, and blinds, restrooms, vents, and light fixtures.
- Room Preparation: Coordinate with nursing staff and supervisor to clean occupied rooms first, check empty rooms, and attend to emergency cleaning for spills.
- Restroom Maintenance: Clean patient rooms daily, damp mop or vacuum floors, and spot clean stains. Dust furniture, ledges, and bed tables and remove debris. Empties, washes, and relines wastebaskets. Wash walls and windows.
- High-Ledge Cleaning: Perform periodic cleaning of high ledges, ceiling, and light fixtures, and vents.
- Corridor Maintenance: Dry and damp mop or machine scrub corridors and elevator landings, according to assigned schedule. Sweep stairwells and wash corridor and landing walls.
- Equipment Maintenance: Check equipment condition upon sign out and clean equipment upon return, reporting any needed maintenance or repair.
- Additional Responsibilities: Assist in meeting set-ups, hang curtains, pick up trash, hazardous waste, and recyclable trash. Wash trash containers in assigned areas.
- On-the-Job Training: On-the-job training is required to attain proficiency of performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Teamwork and Communication: Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intradepartmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Customer Service: Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to maintain confidentiality of patient information. The Environmental Service Aide must be able to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as needed.
