Environmental Service Aide

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Service Aide to join our team at Appalachian Regional Healthcare. As an Environmental Service Aide, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of cleaning duties, including walls, floors, equipment, bath areas, furniture, ceilings, elevators, staircases, windows, and blinds.
- Responsible for maintaining confidential patient information.
- Coordinate with nursing staff and supervisor to clean occupied rooms first, check empty rooms, and attend to emergency cleaning for spills.
- Clean patient rooms daily, damp mop or vacuum floors, and spot clean stains.
- Use appropriate chemicals and techniques when washing and cleaning restrooms.
- Perform periodic cleaning of high ledges, ceiling and light fixtures, and vents.
- Dry and damp mop or machine scrub corridors and elevator landings, according to assigned schedule.
- Assist in meeting set ups, hanging curtains, picking up trash, hazardous waste, and recyclable trash.
- Maintain all floors and carpets.
- Set up meetings, hang curtains, and check the condition of equipment.
- Attend all required safety training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
- Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intradepartmentally to facilitate the departments/units ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
- Display a can-do attitude within the department and across departmental lines to contribute to the overall customer service program in place at the hospital.
On-the-job training is required to attain proficiency of performance of assigned duties and responsibilities.
