Responsible for creating, drafting, revising, amending, managing, and administering contracts, developing and managing internal contracting protocols, credentialing, compliance, and compensation. Ensures contracts meet all regulatory and legal requirements and align with organizational goals and policies.

  • Prepares and reviews contracts for physicians, including employment agreements, independent contractor agreements, professional services agreements, and other related documents
  • Negotiates contract terms and conditions with physicians and other parties, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures
  • Coordinates with various departments, such as compliance, physician services, medical staff, human resources, finance, credentialing, and legal, to obtain necessary approvals and signatures for contracts
  • Tracks contract status, expiration dates, renewals, amendments, and terminations
  • Monitors contract performance and compliance, and resolves any issues or disputes that may arise
  • Provides contract support and guidance to staff and answers contract-related inquiries or requests
  • Conducts contract audits and analysis, and prepares reports and recommendations for contract improvement and optimization
  • Performs and manages legal due diligence on mergers, acquisitions, and other transactional work
  • Gathers and develops facts in connection with inquiries and investigations, and in response to discovery requests
  • Drafts and sends legal correspondence
  • Maintains confidentiality on all sensitive information and department matters

Brings forth creative ideas (one's own or others) to address patient, physician, customer, and community needs. Looks for creative or new ways to improve efficiencies and reduce costs. Adopts new processes, techniques, and methods. Stays current with technologies and advances in his/her area, department, and/or field.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in business, law, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in contract management in the healthcare industry
  • Knowledge of contract law, healthcare regulations, and physician credentialing and compensation
  • Proficient in contract management software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel

Certifications Required

  • Paralegal Certification
