The CMMI-Examination Design Program team is seeking to expand its workforce. This team is responsible for the development of precision motion and data acquisition systems used for examining spent nuclear fuel, materials specimens, and similar applications, often in challenging underwater and irradiated environments.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Research and development of innovative technologies
- Conducting proof of principle testing
- Mechanical design and analysis
- Integration with motion control components
- Testing and authoring end-user documentation
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and software engineers, test sponsors, and system end-users, to achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering or a related scientific field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in the same fields with at least 1 year of relevant experience; or current or previous qualification as an Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW) in the Nuclear Operations Program. Candidates should possess mechanical aptitude and systems-level thinking.
