We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Coordinator to join our team at Complete Staffing Solutions.
Job Summary:
The Surgical Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating patient activities for the Surgical Department to ensure compassionate and professional care. This includes acting as a liaison for physicians, facilities, and patients regarding scheduling of emergent and elective surgeries and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate surgeon's schedules, OR time, and necessary assistants required for the procedure
- Acquire specialized surgical equipment / supplies from outside vendors as requested by the surgeon
- Meet with potential surgical candidates to review procedure, pre-admission testing requirements, and medical clearances
- Schedule appointments for pre-operative care as specified by surgeon's protocol
- Obtain pre-certifications as mandated by each patient's insurance carrier
- Provide pre-admission testing results to patient's PCP, cardiologist, etc.
- Prepare pre-op and post-op orders for physician review and signature
- Confirm calls to hospital or surgery center one week prior to ensure all requested documentation has been received
- Act as liaison with Surgimate (departments software for managing and scheduling surgeries)
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience as Surgical Coordinator / Surgical Scheduler
- Experience with eClinicalWorks / Surgimate preferred
