Key Responsibilities- Coordinate Patient Care: Work closely with center leadership to maximize daily patient census and ensure smooth operation of the outpatient wound care center.
- Manage Front Office Functions: Greet patients and visitors, answer and route calls, maintain patient communication needs, and schedule appointments.
- Verify Patient Information: Obtain and verify patient insurance information, including pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for services.
- Collect and Enter Patient Charges: Collect and enter patient charges in databases, verify and reconcile charges as directed.
- Coordinate Ancillary Testing: Schedule ancillary testing with other hospital departments and arrange for patient transportation as needed.
- Maintain Office Equipment and Supplies: Maintain office equipment and supplies, as well as medical supplies as directed.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED); Associate's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of Two (2) or more years of office administration experience, preferably in a medical setting; prior medical coding experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent Communication Skills: Good customer, interpersonal, and communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Organization and Time-Management Skills: Organization and time-management skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects at the same time.
- Stationary Position: Being in a stationary position for extended periods of time (4 hours or more).
- Computer Screen Viewing: Viewing computer screen for extended periods of time (4 hours or more).
- Keying and Reading: Keying frequently on a computer for 4 hours or more and reading.
