About the Position

The Prince George's County Health Department is seeking a highly skilled Referral Coordinator to provide administrative support for the Administrative Care Coordination Unit Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support for the Administrative Care Coordination Unit Program Manager
  • Plan and schedule meetings, order office supplies, and monitor incoming and outgoing faxes
  • Verify client Medicaid eligibility, assign referrals, and electronically file documents
  • Perform data entry and retrieval for program-related tasks
  • Prepare monthly reports and statistics

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with business courses
  • One year of secretarial/administrative assistant training above the high school level
  • One year of secretarial or technical clerical experience involving working with the public
  • Proficient in typing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in care coordination, including collecting data for service referrals
  • 2-5 years of experience in the Maryland non-emergency transportation program
  • 2-5 years of customer service experience, including answering consumer questions
  • 1-3 years of experience working with managed care organizations and Medicaid providers
  • 2-5 years of experience applying Maryland ACCU policies and COMAR regulations

Working Conditions:

  • Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies
  • Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted administrative leave
