About the Role

Weston Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to join our team. As a key member of our architectural services team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for our renovation and infrastructure design and construction work for our Federal, municipal, and commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide field quality assurance and quality control services for construction projects, ensuring technical execution meets project requirements.
  • Perform design development and provide technical direction to project scopes, ensuring alignment with Weston's Quality Management Plan.
  • Review and perform various architecture-related calculations and analyses to ensure design criteria are met.
  • Collaborate with engineers, CAD technicians, field technicians, designers, and other team personnel to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist the Project Manager in estimating and tracking project costs.
  • Lead proposal preparation efforts and develop project costs.
  • Participate in professional societies and other similar organizations to stay abreast of current and emerging techniques.
  • Interact with clients regarding project-specific tasks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or design, or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 6 to 12 years related experience.
  • Architect license in PA, NJ, MD, DE, or similar state, with the ability to obtain additional licenses quickly and efficiently as needed.
  • Experience preparing commercial designs for competitive procurement, including preparing construction documents, material take-offs, and procuring contractors.
  • Experience with architectural and building systems designs, including office space, utility plants, electrical rooms, communications, and server rooms.
  • Experience working with National, state, and local codes and standards, as well as Federal USGS and UFC.
  • Experience with EV charging stations, EVSE facilities, microgrids, solar systems, battery backup, and alternative energy production and storage facilities is a plus.
  • The ability to use 3D models and prepare BIM is a plus.
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain security clearance during employment or a current security clearance is required.
  • Maintains a valid driver's license and is able to travel.
  • Willing to travel (~20% - 40% time) as required to meet proposal and project needs.
  • Able to meet time-sensitive deadlines and complete multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Able to complete requests for proposals, develop scopes of work, and obtain vendor quotes.
  • Effective oral and communication skills to review report writing, proposal preparation, and architect and construction cost estimates.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to lead or support other engineering disciplines and CADD operators to achieve proposal and project requirements.
