NP - Specialty Practice-Cardiology Flex

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Cardiology team at Carilion Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive health histories and perform physical, psychological, and developmental assessments.
- Assess and manage acute illness, pregnancy, minor trauma, and chronic illness and conditions.
- Initiate, implement, and prescribe appropriate treatment plans, consulting with physicians as needed.
- Administer medications and injections as appropriate.
- Perform or request laboratory and screening tests, and conduct preventive screening procedures based on age and history.
- Accurately record changes in health status and assessment findings, documenting actions in a clear and concise manner.
- Provide patient/family education, develop plans for continued health care management, and promote health maintenance activities for patients.
- Coordinate necessary appointments and referrals, including the use of community resources as indicated by patient needs.
- Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Virginia State Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and DEA license required, or must be eligible to obtain.
- AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
- Advanced Life Support certification required.
- Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Medicine.
