Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Gas Supply Specialist to join our team at TECO. As a key member of our Gas Scheduling and Trading function, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's activities in gas supply and wholesale origination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gas Scheduling and Trading: Responsible for the daily scheduling of gas supply and transportation on up-stream pipelines, as well as the daily confirmation of gas supply scheduled to be delivered to our power plants and distribution system.
  • Market Monitoring: Daily monitoring of market conditions, operations, and constraints on the upstream pipelines serving our company.
  • Portfolio Management: Responsible for the daily or monthly marketing of upstream capacity through wholesale sales or capacity release.
  • Deal Entry and Scheduling: Accurate deal entry and scheduling in the Energy Trading and Risk Management system (Allegro) to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Invoice Reconciliation: Coordination with accounting personnel for verification and reconciliation of natural gas and transportation capacity invoices.
  • Imbalance Reconciliation: Reconciliation of month-ending pipeline transportation and supply imbalances.
  • Trading and Risk Management: Responsible for the trading of natural gas, including financial, physical, options, swaps and other derivative deals within the limits of risk management practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma. A college degree may be considered in lieu of some experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years related experience including four (4) years in energy commodity trading.
  • Skills: Extensive knowledge of trading tools and indices (OTC, NYMEX). Strong Negotiation skills. Demonstrated Leadership skills with ability to think strategically. Ability to produce analysis and initiatives and present them to management. Portfolio ownership.

Working Conditions

Often required to be on-call over weekends and holidays to monitor and maintain system. Storm duties may require offsite relocation (including overnights) during and after a storm.

Responding to storms is considered a condition of employment. TECO Energy and its companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our TECO Energy customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.
