Cardiology Heart Failure Scholar Opportunity

At the Commonwealth of Virginia, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Internal Medicine physician to join our team as a Cardiology Heart Failure Scholar. This unique opportunity allows for inpatient and scholarly experience in a world-class environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching: Support teaching directly via interactions with Housestaff and non-physician professionals.
  • Research: Support clinical research protocols in recruitment and adjunctive clinical management and engage in scholarly activity.
  • Learner: Participate in learning activity on inpatient consult services and ambulatory settings focused on exposure to clinical heart failure.
  • Clinical: Anticipated clinical effort is 25%. The workload and time commitments are commensurate with the medical hospitalists - nocturnists; duty hours will be 7 shifts per 4-week period of time.
  • Other: Submit billing and document care as required by the organization. Abide by all medical staff requirements. Participate in quality initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Candidates should be BC/BE in Internal Medicine.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Clinical and scholarly interest in a career in heart failure.
