Job Title: Intermediate Accountant

Transamerica is seeking an experienced Intermediate Accountant to join our team. As an Intermediate Accountant, you will be responsible for performing intermediate accounting functions and responsibilities, requiring general supervision. You will utilize general accounting and financial principles and techniques to assist in obtaining, assembling, evaluating, interpreting, recording, and analyzing financial data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions.
  • Reconcile, investigate, correct, and adjust accounting information in accordance with aggressive deadlines.
  • Review and analyze data for completeness, material changes, variances, and other appropriate information.
  • Determine the appropriate methodology to prepare information for use by others.
  • Identify, participate, and contribute ideas for success in relation to assigned work, projects, or other process enhancements.
  • Understand the flow of information, financial systems, and appropriate reporting tools to troubleshoot problems.
  • Responsible for adherence to the company's framework of internal controls.
  • Assist in other multiple bases of accounting and financial reporting projects as needed.
  • May assist in documenting business processes, identifying controls and deficiencies in business processes, testing of identified controls, and mapping of internal financial statements to business processes.
  • May coordinate or review work or supervise others.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent education/experience.
  • Minimum of two years of experience, with degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of accounting area preferred (for example, investments, insurance products, premium, tax).
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, ability to handle multiple projects, customer service approach, willingness to take on new projects.
  • Work effectively individually and within a team; organizational and prioritization skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced deadline-driven.
  • Hybrid employees will need to work at a Company office location at times and a remote work location (typically their home) at times - OR - Commuting Remote employees will need to report to a Company office location at times, but will perform their work primarily remotely.
