Job Title: Licensed Nurse Practitioner - Infusion Therapy

We are seeking a part-time licensed Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Metro Infectious Disease Consultants in Tacoma, WA. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the supervision and administration of infusion therapy.

Schedule and Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule with 1-2 days/week, including weekdays and weekends
  • $60-$65/hour competitive pay

Responsibilities:

  1. Assess patient needs and place peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy
  2. Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered by medical professionals
  3. Administer IV therapy via electronic pump or gravity/dial-a-flow tubing while troubleshooting any issues that may arise
  4. Maintain accurate records of infusion charting and patient messages in our electronic medical record system
  5. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans and any potential side effects
  6. Utilize clinical judgment to evaluate patient care needs and establish priorities
  7. Ensure a safe and effective environment for patients, staff, and equipment
  8. Collaborate with colleagues to maintain good interpersonal communication and teamwork
  9. Cover clinics as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations
  10. Comply with standards of nursing practice, JCAHO, state and local laws, and MIDC policy
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
  • Nurse Practitioner experience, preferably in an infusion-related setting
  • INFUSION EXPERIENCE
  • Chemo experience is preferred but not required
  • Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients
