Infection Control Specialist

We are seeking a part-time licensed Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Metro Infectious Disease Consultants in Tacoma, WA. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the supervision and administration of infusion therapy.
Schedule and Benefits:
- Flexible schedule with 1-2 days/week, including weekdays and weekends
- $60-$65/hour competitive pay
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient needs and place peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy
- Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered by medical professionals
- Administer IV therapy via electronic pump or gravity/dial-a-flow tubing while troubleshooting any issues that may arise
- Maintain accurate records of infusion charting and patient messages in our electronic medical record system
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their treatment plans and any potential side effects
- Utilize clinical judgment to evaluate patient care needs and establish priorities
- Ensure a safe and effective environment for patients, staff, and equipment
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain good interpersonal communication and teamwork
- Cover clinics as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations
- Comply with standards of nursing practice, JCAHO, state and local laws, and MIDC policy
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
- Nurse Practitioner experience, preferably in an infusion-related setting
- INFUSION EXPERIENCE
- Chemo experience is preferred but not required
- Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients
