Job Description

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Product Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Product Engineering department, you will be responsible for evaluating designs for manufacturability and leading the development of new products into production.

Responsibilities:
  • Development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation, including manufacturing instructions, routings, process specifications, and tooling.
  • Providing continuity during transitions from proposals to production by acting as the main technical liaison between the customer and EBAD.
  • Solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordination with other departments to ensure the production viability of new designs, creation of the required documentation, and internal and customer approval of documentation.
  • Interface with production personnel, including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.
  • Implementation of Lean methodologies, including standard work, point of use tooling, material presentation, and process improvements.
  • Development of automated test fixtures and assembly tools.
  • Development of layouts of manufacturing cell design, including tooling, machinery, and equipment.
  • Creation of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Technical compliance and risk assessment.
  • Creating standard work and contributing to manufacturing cell planning.
  • Tracking status and ensuring completion of operations milestones and tasks for production programs.
Requirements:
  • A BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably 3-5 years of mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering with experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems.
  • CAD, 3-D modeling, assembly creation, drawings, and GD&T.
  • Design of tooling and fixtures.
  • Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
  • Formal problem analysis and resolution.
  • Project management skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
  • Working with aerospace products and processes.
  • Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing practices.
  • Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) systems.
  • MS Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.
