Position Objectives

The primary objective of this role is to guarantee that all products fulfill or surpass customer expectations, IPC-A-610 standards, the internal Bill of Materials (BOM), and Variosystems' specifications. This position plays a crucial role in adhering to the Quality Management System to assist Variosystems in achieving its overall and specific quality targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate AOI machinery and conduct visual inspections utilizing a microscope.
  • Evaluate assemblies against IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Confirm component markings, values, and orientations.
  • Detect defects and document findings in the data collection system.
  • Validate inspection processes in SAP.
  • Address issues and propose enhancements to the Quality Manager and other teams.
  • Provide support to production operations.
  • Execute Excel programs to verify the AOI program against the Bill of Materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace, including participation in 5S initiatives.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure material traceability as required.
  • Compile and maintain requested data/metrics for Lean and Continuous Improvement efforts.
Essential Qualifications
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Proficient communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Certification as a CIS to IPC-A-610 (or must achieve certification within two weeks of starting the AOI Operator role).
  • Competence in using basic measurement instruments (e.g., calipers) and a microscope at 10X magnification.
  • Ability to interpret component manufacturers' data sheets regarding package design, part and lot numbers, and correct orientations.
  • Familiarity with navigating SAP for confirmation and BOM validation tasks.
  • Proficient in entering defects and validating acceptable boards in the data collection system.
  • Capability to read and interpret assembly drawings and Work Instructions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficient in computer usage, including internet navigation and Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
  • Able to sit and work at a computer and microscope for an 8-hour shift.
