Transportation Equipment Specialist

As a Transportation Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability of equipment for our team by inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventative maintenance tasks, and promoting adherence to food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the overall team effort by accomplishing related projects and offering assistance as needed.
- Inspect, promote, and maintain adherence to food safety cleanliness in the handling of product, ingredients, and finished goods using proper work procedures and compliance with Food Safety and Quality Standards.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance inspections in Intelex.
- Complete maintenance requests in Intelex.
- Have advanced mechanical aptitude and knowledge of power tools, precision measuring tools, and MIG and ARC welding.
- Independently complete assigned tasks as directed by the Transportation Manager.
- Maintain a clean shop and/or assigned work area.
- Ensure the preventative maintenance schedule is being executed on all vehicles (forklifts, man-lifts, golf-carts, etc.).
- Keep transportation equipment within DOT Specifications and regulations.
- Keep an organized log of all forklift and transportation equipment repairs.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal team members and external vendors or customers via email, telephone, 2-way radio, or handwriting.
- Computer proficiency (MS Windows and Office).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
