The Director of Mental Health Services plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of quality care and medical services in areas such as mental health, substance use, forensic mental health, quality assurance, and utilization review.

This position is responsible for developing, planning, directing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating healthcare services to ensure they meet the needs and objectives of the Mental Health Services Department.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Health Care Specialization, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, and three years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital or regulatory agency administration.

The Director will also be responsible for supervising staff, participating in staff meetings and conferences, and attending meetings with key leadership officials and external representatives.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Health Care Specialization, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Three years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital or regulatory agency administration
  • Valid license and current registration to practice in a mental health field issued by the New York State Education Department
