Position Overview

IT Concepts is in search of a Splunk Analyst to contribute to various initiatives within a federal agency. The successful candidate will possess robust analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop intricate SPL for advanced Splunk dashboards and queries.
  • Facilitate data onboarding using Splunk tools and automation techniques.
  • Collaborate with clients to create tailored content while maintaining high-quality communication.
  • Design and implement Splunk dashboards and queries.
  • Automate tasks within the Splunk environment.
  • Write scripts and code for security tools.
  • Establish processes and schedules to review existing methodologies and queries for divisional metrics.
  • Gain familiarity with the CDM technical requirements for client programs and understand your role in CDM activities.
  • Engage with a variety of security issues, including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access.
  • Oversee the design, management, and maintenance of the agency's SIEM infrastructure to enhance data ingestion processes, including architectural development of data pipelines for optimal data flow.
  • Handle maintenance, configuration, and implementation of products, appliances, and devices within the client's network.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience, Master's degree with 5 years of experience, or 11 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience with Splunk, specifically in scripting and onboarding large datasets from diverse sources.
  • At least 4 years of experience in designing, upgrading, maintaining, and implementing network devices in a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • Proficient in coordinating and communicating with remotely deployed team members.
  • Experience in developing documentation for processes and procedures.
  • Ability to propose and implement automation features in a large enterprise setting.
  • Possess active Splunk Core Certifications for User, Power User, and Admin.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing and customizing reports from network security tools.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Splunk Common Information Model (CIM) and Enterprise Analytics.
  • Familiarity with Cribl for data load balancing.
  • Experience utilizing Elastic for cloud storage solutions.
  • Prior experience supporting government agencies, particularly the Social Security Administration, is advantageous.
  • Understanding of business processes related to IT programs, networks, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Knowledge of network technologies, workflows, and IT reporting.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently from other team members.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and coordination during network activities.
