Business Analyst Job Description

At Infojini Consulting, we are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our team. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between our business programs community and the IT organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaison Role: Serve as a liaison between the business programs community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs.
  • Business Expertise: Possess expertise in the business unit(s) you support, as well as an understanding of the IT organization's systems and capabilities.
  • Process Analysis: Analyze business partner's operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses, identifying opportunities to automate processes and functions.
  • Requirements Gathering: Conduct efficient requirement gathering sessions with multiple stakeholders to capture business requirements.
  • Requirements Management: Translate high-level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manage changes to such specifications.
  • Communication: Negotiate agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.
  • Technical Knowledge: Possess an understanding of technological trends and use this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge.
  • Documentation: Document and analyze agency business processes and recommend improvements.
  • Data Requirements: Document and analyze data requirements and relationships.
  • Requirements Management Processes: Participate in the requirements management processes, including change control, version control, tracking, and status reporting, and traceability.
  • Requirements Interpretation: Provide requirements interpretation and guidance to technical and test teams.
  • Risk Identification: Proactively identify risks, issues, and action items leading to possible solutions.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Interact with internal and external organizations, including vendors, State and Federal government agencies, State providers, and beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.
  • Buy vs. Build Decision: May make recommendations for buy versus build decisions.
  • Business Rules: Research business rules, requirements, and models.
  • Business Rules Maintenance: Maintain business rules, requirements, and models in a repository.
