Senior Accountant Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Autism Spectrum Interventions. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing our financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making by C-Suite and the BOD.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties in accordance with accounting best practices and procedures.
  • Manage payroll journal entries, including reconciliations and month-end accruals.
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
  • Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents.
  • Prepare financial reports, such as budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and assist with external audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of requested documentation and information.
  • Mentor and oversee junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting GAAP experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
